SuperSTAR FITNESS BOOT CAMP™ - Sand Dune Workout
With obesity rates being at the highest they have been in years many people are becoming conscious of their health and fitness. This has created a new market for intense fitness sessions run in groups called boot camps.
Latest craze or ultimate answer to your fitness problems
Fitness boot camps are fast becoming the latest craze in an increasingly health-conscious modern world. Do you like to go to the gym? Or do you exercise at home or does it all just take too much time?
Well you may be like many other people who are moving to attending fitness boot camps instead of exercising in gyms or at home, and this is converting fitness boot camps into a money-raking business.
What is the goal of a fitness boot camp? Unlike military and social change boot camps where residency, long-term training and many months of your time are required. Fitness boot camps provide an extremely efficient, power-packed workout, in the space of an hour. It is this amazing economical usage of time that drives people to fitness boot camps.
These boot camps would meet several times a week, for a power packed hour's duration each. This way they can fit into anyone’s normal busy every day schedule with incredible ease allowing you the ability to get fit and meet your deadlines.
How does it work?
The process for each class may differ but generally classes begin with a simple warm-up exercise, like squatting, sit-ups, or walking on the treadmill. This is run in a cycle with people performing these exercises in groups alternating their exercises every few minutes.
The alternating of exercises, or "cycle exercising" is a great way to break up the monotony that usually forms from exercise programs.
As the class progresses, the exercises become more intense and more difficult. With the boot camp leader yelling instructions and the participants not quitting until the entire class is complete.
This probably sounds very gruelling and would put you off and most people who join fitness boot camps will find it very taxing at first. But as they start to realize the benefits, they change their minds.
Not all people are physically able to keep up and it is recommended that potential clients get a check up before joining a fitness boot camp, since too much stress can be harmful. For others, there is a need to work out to be physically fit enough to attend the intense power packed workout that is a fitness boot camp.
Harsh but successful!
That said fitness boot camps are not for the faint of heart. The instructor or “Drill Sergeant" is often harsh, yelling at his team and reprimanding them in no uncertain terms for failing to maintain standards. They are run like military boot camps, often by ex-military.
There are punishments for being late and for not completing exercises, which can be more intense exercises. The reality is that at the end of the day, the instructor's mission is to give people the maximum workout possible, not to be friends.
The majority of people who have joined fitness boot camps with an understanding of what they are getting into are extremely satisfied with the end product, though initially they may have problems due to the harsh methods employed.
They believe that in these times of 40-hour workweeks and hectic schedules a fitness boot camp may be the only answer to getting a high-value workout.
